Support to Church Missions by St Martin's Parish
ABM – ANGLICAN BOARD OF MISSIONS believes in a world where all people enjoy God’s promise of love, hope and justice. We work to see this belief become a reality.
ABM is the national mission agency for the Anglican Church of Australia. It is the channel through which Australian Anglicans participate in missions, both here and overseas. Through our Anglican church partners both in Australia and overseas, ABM’s Church to Church program serves Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Anglicans as well as theological education overseas.
Anglicans in Development (AID) is wholly owned by ABM and operates ABM’s Sustainable Communities program. AID works with church partners to deliver grassroots, community-driven development, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership, and disaster preparedness and response.
In all our work, we want to see people everywhere experience the wholeness of life God offers in Jesus Christ, and to this end, we support our partners as they participate in God’s mission.
BCA – BUSH CHURCH AID has a heart for people living in remote and regional Australia. We are committed to going the distance to reach Australia for Christ.
People living in sparsely populated areas often don’t benefit from strong support networks. Churches in these areas can struggle financially due to fluctuating populations. Ongoing fellowship can be hard to maintain and encouragement can become a rarity.
In partnership with Anglican Dioceses across the country, Bush Church Aid places committed and gifted Christians in a variety of locations to help people connect with the grace of God revealed in Jesus.
People with Disability (PWD) are often the most underprivileged and marginalised group of people. Disabled and Helpless Rehabilitation and Service Centre, Nepal (DHERSEC, Nepal) provides support to those in extreme need. Their target population includes not only PWD and their families, but also earthquake, landslide, homeless and landless people, vulnerable single parents and those living in squatter settlements without security and livelihood. Dr Owen Lewis (St Martin’s) assisted in the development of this project and continues as a consultant and supporter.
JONGLEI HEALTH SCIENCES INSTITUTE, BOR TOWN, SOUTH SUDAN
This Christian Mission project was started in 2014 to train mid-level health workers (Clinical Officers, Nurses and Midwifes) to support and improve the access and delivery of healthcare to the people of South Sudan. It is now accredited to the Ministry of Health, Republic of South Sudan and graduated the top students in the country while also nurturing Christian faith in graduates and a heart to serve their people.
Feeding homeless children: The Mothers Union of the Cathedral Church of St Andrew in Bor Town are feeding homeless children monthly with our support.
Samaritan’s Purse is a non-profit, Christian organisation providing emergency relief and development assistance to suffering people around the world. Samaritan’s Purse is meeting the physical needs of victims of war, famine, natural disaster, poverty and disease with the aim of demonstrating God’s love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. The aid and assistance are given without regard to the race, creed, gender, religion, or ethnicity of the beneficiaries.
