ST MARTIN’S CHAPEL
Background
St Martin’s Church was first mooted in 1854 at a meeting of locals where it was agreed to collect subscriptions, select a site and £50 was promised to build a church. The first service was held in the Old Church on 20th January 1861.
The first priest at the at the new St Martin’s Church was Rev’d E K Miller (1853 – 1863).
One of the highlights of the new church were the three stained glass windows placed behind the altar. We have subsequently added 8 more stained glass windows over the last few years.

ST MARTIN’S HERITAGE AND PRESERVE GARDEN CEMETERY
Background
This historic cemetery was one of the first established in the Campbelltown district; it preceded the construction of “old” St Martin’s Church and had its first burial in 1856.
For many years it was like most country cemeteries, dirt pathways and headstones, but due to the foresight of Bob Moule, the son of one of the very early local market gardeners, it has now also become a tribute to the early days of farming and market gardening.
The aim has been to capture the history of the local area by tastefully displaying commercial farming and gardening equipment with appropriate storyboards amongst the headstones. Items such as horse and tractor drawn ploughs, saddles and harnesses, pumps are included in the display.
ST MARTIN’S MAUSOLEUM AND CRYPT CEMETERY
St Martin’s Church is situated in a area of Adelaide that has many Italian families residing in surrounding suburbs. This part of the cemetery has offered these Italians in the area a place to bury their loved ones as they do in their native country.
